Is a Blood Test required to get married in Jamaica?

Answer – A Blood Test is not a requirement to get married in Jamaica.  To get married, one will need to provide us with the required documents listed on our Wedding Packages page.  With these documents we will be able to obtain a Minister’s Licence on your behalf thus satisfying all legal requirements to ensure your wedding takes place.

 

What documents are required of us?

Answer –  DOCUMENT REQUIRED are as follows:-

* Notarized copy of Bride and Groom’s Birth Certificates

* Notarized copy of Divorce Decree, if necessary

* Notarized copy of former spouse death certificate, if widowed

* If applicable, notarized copy of Adoption documents reflecting name change

* Notarized translation of documents to English, if applicable

* Completed Wedding & Payment Information Form

Completed Wedding Information should be emailed to us along with scanned

copies of all required documents at least two months prior to wedding date.

How long should one stay in Jamaica before getting married?

Answer – Arriving in Jamaica 24 or 48 hours prior to your wedding day is only a formality, not a law. Providing that a Minister’s License was applied for and received on your behalf, you can get married within minutes of your arrival in Jamaica.

 

Is our marriage in Jamaica legal?

Answer – Getting married in Jamaica is absolutely legal.  All Marriages performed in Jamaica are legally recognized universally.

 

How soon after our Wedding will we receive the official copy of our Marriage Certificate?

Answer – Following your Wedding Ceremony, the Minister will present you with a copy of your Minister’s Certificate.  A month and a half following the wedding, two certified copies of the Minister’s Certificate will be forwarded to you via mail.

 

Are Weddings in Jamaica less expensive than weddings back home?

Answer – Depending on your selections, a wedding in Jamaica can be far less expensive than a wedding back home.

 

Will we be able to meet with Wedding Suppliers prior to our Wedding

Answer – Absolutely, we are delighted to arrange same for you.
